Maria Sauvou expresses immense gratitude towards the Sai Prema Foundation hospital, stating that without it, her daughter would still be battling Rheumatic Heart Disease. Her daughter, 16-year-old Ulamila Naivalu, was diagnosed with the condition when she was just one year old.

Ms. Sauvou shared her relief following Ulamila’s successful surgery on Thursday, saying, “It felt like a heavy burden was lifted from my back. My daughter can now live freely.” She added that their worries have significantly decreased, along with sleepless nights and pain associated with the illness.

Throughout the years, Ms. Sauvou consistently created a nurturing environment for Ulamila and provided positive encouragement during tough times. She recalled instances where Ulamila exhibited signs of a weakening heart, prompting urgent trips to the hospital for necessary injections, which added to the family’s distress.

With unwavering support from family and constant prayers, Ulamila persevered through these challenges. After years of searching for alternatives, surgery emerged as the only option, leading them to the Sai Prema Children Hospital.

Reflecting on the initial diagnosis, Ms. Sauvou recalled, “When I learned she had RHD, I felt as if the world had failed me. It was an emotional time, especially knowing she was so young. I lost all hope until Sai Prema Children Hospital came into our lives.”

She expressed deep appreciation for institutions like Sai Prema that specialize in treating children with this disease, describing the experience as miraculous. Ms. Sauvou encourages other parents to seek medical check-ups for their children without hesitation.

“We are not financially well off, but God answers prayers and guided us to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital. The staff and medical team provided exceptional support, making Ulamila feel at home in a truly comforting environment.”
