The Ministry of Health and Medical Services emphasizes that the safety and well-being of healthcare workers at nursing stations and health centres nationwide is its highest priority. In a recent statement, the Ministry condemned any disrespectful behavior towards medical staff, highlighting the sacrifices these professionals make in their service.

The Ministry acknowledged a delay in appointing a replacement nurse for the Naililili Nursing Station in Rewa due to a series of robberies at the nursing station quarters last December. Currently, the nurse from Naililili is working at Wainibokasi Hospital and travels to the Naililili station monthly to provide Maternal Child Health Clinics and Special Outpatients Clinics. Additionally, a laborer is assigned to clean the nursing station once a month.

As part of its plan, the Ministry intends to install fencing around the nursing station and carry out minor renovations. It is also urging the local community to take steps to ensure the safety of healthcare workers serving in their areas.
