The Ministry of Justice is set to digitize all its records in an effort to streamline operations and enhance service delivery through digital technologies. This initiative was announced by Minister for Justice Siromi Turaga in response to the 2024-2025 National Budget Announcement.
Minister Turaga stated that the Ministry has been allocated $100,000 for the project, which will kickstart the groundwork for digitizing the Registrar of Titles. The project is being supported by technical assistance from the Asian Development Bank and will be guided by a scoping consultant.
Additionally, the Ministry has been allocated $6 million for the next financial year. Minister Turaga emphasized that this allocation demonstrates a significant commitment to upholding the rule of law, reinforcing the foundational aspects of the nation’s legal framework, and improving service delivery.
He added that the initiative marks a transformative leap in efforts to reinforce justice and ensure the prevalence of the rule of law across the nation.
