The Education Ministry is warning the public to be wary of fraudulent posts circulating on social media about free online courses. These posts are being misinterpreted by some as legitimate offerings from the ministry. Selina Kuruleca, the Education permanent secretary, voiced the ministry’s concern about this episode of misinformation.

“We cannot accept such falsehoods. We neither endorse nor have information about who disseminated this deceptive information and what their motives were,” stated Kuruleca. These misleading posts proposed that the ministry was offering free online courses lasting for four weeks.

For authentic news and updates from the Ministry of Education, Kuruleca suggests people to check the official websites and social media platforms of both the Ministry of Education and the Fiji Government. This story initially surfaced on The Fiji Times under the title, “Ministry warns of fake online courses scam”.
