The Nabukarabe Youth Club has received significant support this week as the Ministry of Youth and Sports allocated funding through its income-generating project grant. This funding was delivered by the Minister for Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru, who reaffirmed a commitment made during last year’s Cakaudrove Youth Festival to uplift and empower youth organizations across the nation.

Minister Saukuru underscored the government’s dedication to assisting youth clubs not only in urban centers but also in the remote regions of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. He emphasized the importance of community engagement in tackling serious issues that young people face today, such as drug abuse, which has been correlated with rising cases of HIV and AIDS.

The Minister urged the youth to distance themselves from drugs and emphasized that combating these challenges requires collective effort. He pointed out that addressing drug-related issues should not be viewed as solely the duty of the Fiji Police Force or the government; instead, it requires an active involvement from the entire community.

This initiative illustrates the government’s proactive stance in supporting the youth and encourages positive community action, fostering a safer and healthier environment for future generations.
