Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Tomasi Tunabuna, recently toured the Western Division, starting with a visit to the Ba office as part of his 2025 agenda. During this visit, he expressed gratitude to the staff for their unwavering dedication and hard work, despite facing numerous challenges. Tunabuna highlighted their vital contributions, particularly in supporting farmers and other stakeholders in the agriculture sector.

He emphasized the significance of integrity in their work, the necessity of staying updated with industry changes, and the adoption of innovative technologies to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability. Tunabuna strongly advocated for teamwork, suggesting that collaboration among staff would not only benefit the Ba office but also improve the overall functioning of the Ministry.

Petero Mausio, a Senior Agriculture Officer, welcomed the Minister’s visit, describing it as a morale boost for the team as they strive to elevate their work standards. Following his time in Ba, Tunabuna is expected to meet with livestock farmers in Ba and Tavua over the next couple of days to gather further insights on how the Ministry can provide better support.
