Minister of Lands and Minerals Resources Filimoni Vosarogo took a break from his parliamentary responsibilities to attend the official opening of the McDonald’s Inter-District Championship. During the event, he highlighted the significance of government support in sports, which plays a crucial role in developing young talent throughout Fiji.
“I’m really encouraged, in fact I had to ask for leave from the Speaker of the House, since parliament is in session this week, and today is the last day. I made this request so I could be here with you. This demonstrates that your government is genuinely interested in fostering the growth of soccer in our country,” Vosarogo expressed.
The tournament, showcasing young soccer talents from different districts, is currently being held at Nasinu Muslim Primary School and will conclude tomorrow.
