Minister for Home Affairs Pio Tikoduadua has stated that no one is above the law in light of the ongoing investigation into convicted drug smuggler Aiyaz Mohammed Musa Umarji. The government maintains a firm stance on tackling drug-related crimes and those involved in such activities.

In his remarks, Mr. Tikoduadua acknowledged the investigation concerning Mr. Musa’s return to Fiji but refrained from commenting on the specifics due to the ongoing nature of the inquiry. He emphasized the government’s commitment to combating illegal narcotics and reiterated support for law enforcement in handling these issues.

“No one is above the law,” Mr. Tikoduadua asserted, highlighting the importance of due process in investigations aimed at safeguarding communities from the detrimental effects of drug-related offenses.

Musa was previously incarcerated in New Zealand for importing pseudoephedrine, a key component in methamphetamine production. After his release, the Fiji Police Criminal Investigations Department and Serious Organised Crime Unit initiated an investigation into allegations of misappropriation of funds, illegal importation of controlled substances, money laundering, and related criminal activities.
