Jordan Miller, a representative for Vodafone Fiji Bati and prop for West Tigers, expresses gratitude for the guidance he has received from senior players as the team prepares for their second round match against the Cook Islands Aitu in the Pacific Rugby League Bowl Championship. At just 19 years old, Miller takes pride in representing his country, drawing inspiration from his grandparents.

Miller recently had a fruitful outing against Papua New Guinea, where he enjoyed valuable playing time in the second half and played in front of his family. “It was a good match against Papua New Guinea over the weekend. I got a little game time in the second half and I’m happy with my performance,” Miller remarked. “It was also a great opportunity to play in front of my family and my two biggest heroes, my grandparents.”

Acknowledging the challenge posed by Papua New Guinea, Miller stated that he respects their team while emphasizing the need to focus on the upcoming match against the Cook Islands. “We had a tough match with them (PNG). They were the better side, so now we just put that game behind us and concentrate on this week’s game. We’re expecting another tough battle against the Cook Islands. Preparations have been going well, and I’m looking forward to the match.”

Miller values the significance of participating in these important matches and appreciates the support he has felt within the team. “Being the youngest in the squad has been a challenge. When I first came into camp, I was shy, but I thank the boys for their assistance, especially Viliame Kikau and Tui Kamikamica for guiding me through the process.”

The Fiji Bati will face the Aitu on Saturday at 8:10 PM at the HFC Bank Stadium.
