The Ministry of Public Works, Meteorological Services, and Transport has announced that the temporary bypass road at Semo Village along the Queens Highway is set to open to the public from midnight tonight. This development comes as final construction works on the bypass are being wrapped up, facilitating traffic flow through the area which has experienced disruptions due to issues at the Semo crossing.
The Ministry expressed its gratitude to the local communities, particularly the residents of Semo and Nalele, for their cooperation and support during the construction phase. Special recognition was given to the landowners in Semo for granting prompt access to initiate urgent works, as well as to the villagers of Nalele who assisted with traffic management throughout the project.
While the opening of the bypass is a positive stride toward restoring accessibility, motorists are advised to proceed with caution when using the new route. They are encouraged to adhere strictly to all posted traffic signs and safety instructions to ensure a smooth and safe passage through the region.
This proactive response from the Ministry highlights the importance of community collaboration in overcoming infrastructure challenges, paving the way for improved connectivity and safety for travelers in the area.
