A touching encounter at 35,000 feet has brought warmth and gratitude to former head teacher Chandrika Prasad, who recently shared his experience on social media. While flying on Fiji Airways flight FJ410 from New Zealand to Fiji, Prasad was unexpectedly recognized by a flight attendant.

The attendant approached him and inquired, “Sir, are you Mr. Prasad, ex-head teacher of SSM (Swami Shraddhanand Memorial School Primary School) Nabua, Suva?” Prasad confirmed his identity, leading to a heartfelt reunion with Alumita, a former Class 7 student from the very school where he had once served as head teacher. Overwhelmed with pride, Prasad reflected on the significant impact educators can have on their students’ lives.

This emotional moment continued even after their flight, as upon arriving at Nadi International Airport, Alumita and her fellow flight attendants assisted Prasad with his luggage. He expressed profound gratitude for their kindness, stating, “Alumita, God bless you abundantly.”

Such stories remind us of the lasting connections forged through education and the positive impacts teachers can have, influencing generations well beyond the classroom. This heartfelt interaction exemplifies how moments of recognition and gratitude can resonate strongly, even years after a teacher’s tenure.
