MHCC Complex in Suva has proudly marked its 17th anniversary, celebrating nearly two decades of service to the Fijian community. Kunaseelan Sabaratnam, the Director for Carpenters Finance, shared insights on the significance of this milestone, highlighting the complex as a pioneering shopping hub in Fiji that offers a diverse range of products and services all in one location.

Sabaratnam pointed out that MHCC was the first mall in the country to bring together supermarkets, fashion outlets, and various other stores, establishing itself as a convenient one-stop shopping destination for Fijians. He also emphasized the complex’s role in supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), noting that it provides a platform for emerging businesses to grow. Many startups have taken advantage of opportunities like the pushcart program to launch their ventures in a more accessible space.

Looking forward, Sabaratnam revealed plans for further enhancements to the complex, including renovations and the addition of a new tower, with an anticipated completion by March. This investment indicates a commitment to improving the shopping experience for customers and bolstering local employment opportunities since the complex’s inception in 2007.

In summary, MHCC Complex continues to evolve, directly impacting both the local economy and the community at large. The ongoing support for small businesses reinforces a collaborative spirit within Fiji, promising growth and prosperity for the region.

As MHCC celebrates this milestone, it reflects the resilience and adaptability of retail in the face of changing economic climates, offering hope for a vibrant future in Fiji’s retail landscape.
