MGM Triumphs in Nail-Biting U14 Quarter-Final Showdown

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School faced a tense finish against Queen Victoria School in the Vodafone Super Deans under-14 quarter-finals. Despite a late rally from QVS, which resulted in two tries, MGM managed to secure an 18-15 victory in a match that kept the enthusiastic crowd engaged from start to finish.

With this win, MGM advances to the semi-finals and will prepare to take on either Lelean Memorial School, Ratu Kadavulevu School, or Marist Brothers High School next weekend. Team manager Miriama Lutubulo emphasized the importance of maintaining their training momentum as they prepare for tougher challenges ahead.

Leading 15-3 at halftime, MGM could only add a penalty in the second half, which contributed to the nail-biting conclusion of the match. Lutubulo expressed pride in the team’s performance, highlighting their motivation stemming from playing for their families, school, and friends. The presence of supportive parents in the stands adds to their determination on the field.
