The Methodist Church of Fiji is commemorating its 60th anniversary of independence from Australia. The annual conference, referred to as ‘Bose ko Viti’, is currently taking place at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

During a media briefing, MCF General Secretary Reverend Dr. Jolame Lawasa announced several significant appointments made at the conference. Delegates have reappointed Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou as President for another year. Additionally, Reverend Dr. Anil Reuben will continue in his role as Deputy General Secretary alongside Lawasa as General Secretary.

Reverend Lawasa noted that Vice President Joji Qaranivalu will conclude his three-year term this year, and Jone Vuto has been elected as the Incoming Vice-President, set to take office in 2025.

This year, the Methodist Church aims to strengthen its mission in Fiji, with plans to establish a TV and radio station among its objectives. The week-long meeting is ongoing.
