The Methodist Church of Fiji is marking its 60th anniversary of independence from Australia. The annual conference, referred to as the ‘Bose ko Viti,’ is currently being held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
In a media briefing, MCF General Secretary Reverend Dr. Jolame Lawasa announced several important appointments made during the conference. Delegates have re-elected Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou as President for another term, and both Reverend Dr. Anil Reuben and he have been reappointed as General Secretary and Deputy General Secretary, respectively.
Reverend Lawasa noted that Vice President Joji Qaranivalu is concluding his three-year term this year and that Jone Vuto has been selected to serve as the Incoming Vice-President starting in 2025.
This year, the Methodist Church aims to enhance its mission in Fiji, with plans to establish a TV and radio station as one of its key initiatives. The week-long conference is ongoing.
