A trial date has been set for Walter Fong, who faces charges for unlawful possession of methamphetamine. The hearing is scheduled to begin on July 30 of next year. Fong, represented by lawyer Jiten Reddy, is accused of possessing 0.0212 grams of methamphetamine in Lami on August 7 of this year. He has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Additionally, three other individuals are facing charges related to the unlawful importation of methamphetamine. Michael Malik Mudaliar and Sujeet Kumar, also represented by Reddy, are alleged to have imported approximately 8.502 liters of liquid methamphetamine, weighing around 8.3214 kilograms. This alleged importation took place in Nadi between May 12 and May 18 of last year. Their co-accused, Alvin Kumar, faces charges of aiding and abetting in the drug’s importation. These men are expected to appear for a pre-trial conference on March 17 next year.

This situation underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to tackle drug-related crimes and the legal process in place to address such serious allegations. The upcoming trial dates will ensure that the judicial system addresses these cases in a timely manner, reaffirming the commitment to justice and public safety.

In summary, Fong’s trial is set for next July while others charged with importation will have a pre-trial conference in March. The justice system continues its work to resolve these serious drug-related offenses.
