Mental Health Advocate Shines in 2024 Miss Hibiscus Pageant

Melania Tora, an ambitious contestant vying for the 2024 Miss Hibiscus title, aspires to establish a rehabilitation center in Fiji that provides free mental health care for the country’s vulnerable population. At 24 years old, she proudly represents Tents & Awnings while pursuing a master’s degree in psychology at The University of the South Pacific.

Tora earned her Bachelor of Arts and Psychology degree with distinction from Deakin University in Victoria, Australia, and also holds a Diploma in Arts and Psychology from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. Her academic accomplishments and passion for psychology have set her on track to become a clinical psychologist.

Aside from her educational pursuits, Melania enjoys listening to music and podcasts, working out at the gym, and spending time with friends. Her diverse interests and commitment to enhancing mental health services in Fiji contribute to her reputation as a compelling contestant in this year’s competition.

Melania’s journey reflects the spirit of the Hibiscus Festival, which celebrates talent, culture, and community connection. With her strong dedication to mental health advocacy, she stands out as a remarkable participant in this year’s event.
