The Fiji Police M-Paisa Task Force will present two men at the Labasa Magistrates Court today charged in connection with two separate cases of obtaining financial advantage by deception.
The first case involves a 24-year-old man who allegedly obtained $957 from the victim’s account on October 10, 2022. The victim realized the transaction had occurred after noticing that the amount was automatically transferred to an unfamiliar number. The accused is alleged to have withdrawn the money on the same day and used it. The victim reported the incident at the Labasa Police Station.
In the second case, a 24-year-old man from Bulileka is accused of dishonestly obtaining $389 from the victim by transferring the amount without the victim’s knowledge. The victim reported the matter at the Valelevu Police Station.
