Chelsea and Nottingham Forest have been charged by the Football Association following an altercation between players during their Premier League match on Sunday, which ended in a 1-1 draw. The incident was triggered by Forest’s Neco Williams, whose challenge on Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella resulted in the latter falling into the technical area and knocking over coach Enzo Maresca.
The situation escalated as several players from both teams, including substitutes, rushed onto the field, leading to a chaotic confrontation before referee Chris Kavanagh was able to restore order. In total, the match saw 11 yellow cards issued.
The FA stated that both clubs are accused of failing to ensure their players behaved in a proper manner around the 88th minute. They have until Thursday, October 10, to respond to the charges.
