Aanvi Prasad has emerged as one of the top achievers in the 2024 Fiji Eighth Year Examination, demonstrating remarkable dedication and hard work. The Year 8 student from Lautoka Central Primary School achieved an impressive score of 491 out of 500. Reflecting on her success, she emphasized that her commitment and sacrifices throughout the academic year were crucial to reaching her goal.
“It was my dream to be the highest scorer, and I sacrificed for it,” Aanvi shared. She implemented structured study timetables and remained devoted to her schoolwork, sharing with her parents her aspiration to excel in all her exams. Her hard work and focus have led her to achieve this significant milestone.
At just 13 years old, the head girl acknowledged the challenges posed by competitors who often doubted her potential. “They always said it was impossible to achieve the highest mark in the final examination. Sometimes it made me lose hope, but I am thankful to my parents and teachers for encouraging me that anything is possible,” she expressed.
Her father, Ronil Prasad, expressed immense pride in his daughter’s accomplishments. “I am a proud dad. It was a great investment that we as parents made in our daughter’s education. We have seen the fruit of it. It is a different feeling as a parent to experience such an achievement from our children,” he stated.
Looking ahead, Aanvi plans to further her education at Natabua High School next year. In a remarkable reflection of the talent displayed in this examination, Viola Ravutubananitu from Tagitagi Sangam School in Ba also matched Aanvi’s score of 491 marks.
This story serves as an inspiration, emphasizing that hard work, determination, and the support of family and educators can lead to extraordinary achievements. It highlights the importance of resilience in the face of challenges and the power of believing in oneself.
