Meet Miss Hibiscus 2024: A Rising Star You Need to Know!

Rowena Acraman, a 22-year-old student and former journalist, has been announced as the inaugural contestant for the 2024 Miss Hibiscus pageant. Known for her diverse talents and passion for advocacy, Acraman stands out with her impressive skills. She is fluent in English, Hindi, and Japanese, showcasing her enthusiasm for learning and cultural exchange.

Her educational background includes St. Anne’s Primary School, Jai Narayan College, and the University of the South Pacific. In addition to her academic pursuits, Rowena is a passionate artist, singer, and musician, skilled in playing both the guitar and ukulele, reflecting her deep appreciation for creativity and self-expression.

Looking to the future, Acraman aims to work for a non-governmental organization (NGO) focused on human rights and tackling climate change, demonstrating her commitment to making a meaningful impact globally. She is sponsored by Apco Coatings, a prominent paint and coatings company in the South Pacific since 1977.

The 68th Hibiscus Festival is set to be held at the Suva Civic Foreshore and Suva Civic Centre from Saturday, August 31st to Saturday, September 7th. This year’s festival is backed by FMF and Vodafone as Gold Sponsors, promising an exciting week of cultural celebrations, entertainment, and the showcasing of beauty and talent.
