Labasa defender Unaisi Tuberi has been appointed as the captain of the first-ever Digicel Fiji Women’s Futsal team. The 30-year-old, hailing from Nadogo, brings extensive experience to the position, having previously led the Fiji Kulas. Head coach Jerry Sam commended Tuberi’s leadership skills, noting her as a valuable asset to the team due to her deep understanding of the game.

“You can see Tuberi standing out during training; she has leadership qualities and can quickly organize herself and communicate with the players, which is crucial in futsal. We need someone like that to guide the players,” Sam remarked. Tuberi will be supported in her role by Naomi Waqanidrola, a former Kulas player and current representative for the Rewa Women’s team.
