The West Media community celebrated its annual family fun day alongside a festive Christmas party at the Aamira Restaurant, located within the South Seas Club in Lautoka. This joyous occasion brought together diligent media professionals and their families for a day of relaxation and camaraderie.
Supported by the Fijian Media Association (FMA), the event was a platform for media workers from various outlets, including Fiji Times, Fiji Sun, FBC, and City Star, to share in the festive spirit with their loved ones. Notable attendees included FMA president and Fiji Sun Acting Publisher, Rosi Doviverata, who joined the celebration with her family.
West Media executive Pacolo Vavataga expressed his enthusiasm for the day, highlighting its significance as a time for colleagues to connect outside of work, reflect on the year’s achievements, and enjoy each other’s company. Vavataga remarked that the annual family fun day concept, initiated by coordinator Waisea Nasokia last year, aimed to include children and family members, enhancing the sense of community.
The celebration featured a barbecue and drinks at a shed with a picturesque sea view. The club’s management, including trustee Jan Mohammed and vice president Hafiz Rahman, also participated, with Mohammed expressing his honor at hosting the event.
In addition to fostering relationships and spreading holiday cheer, this gathering showcases the supportive network of the media community and their commitment to celebrating milestones together.
Overall, the event not only served as a festive gathering but also reinforced the importance of community within the media industry, highlighting the collaborative spirit that can make holiday celebrations even more meaningful.
