McDonald’s to Expand in Fiji with New Outlets!

Lami and Nausori will soon welcome McDonald’s outlets, as Vuvale Restaurants (Fiji) Limited, the parent company of McDonald’s Fiji, continues its expansion efforts. Managing Director Marc McElrath revealed that these plans are expected to be realized within the next 12 to 18 months.

McElrath mentioned that a property in Lami has been acquired and is currently undergoing the re-zoning process, with design work being handled in New Zealand. “Lami is a growing area, and the traffic between Lami, Pacific Harbour, and the Western Division is increasing every week,” he said.

McDonald’s Nakasi, which opened last month, has already seen excellent success, according to McElrath. The addition of this outlet created 55 new jobs, primarily for school leavers, and has increased the company’s workforce in Fiji to about 400 people.

Expansion into Nausori is also planned, with McElrath stating, “We’ll be looking at different sites there.” He also mentioned that extensive work has been done in Labasa for site selection, with ongoing discussions and evaluations. The company hopes to confirm developments in the next four months to extend its presence into Vanua Levu.
