The McDonald’s Mike Friday Select 7s team has officially been announced for the upcoming Coral Coast Sevens tournament in Fiji, scheduled to take place from January 16 to 18 at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka. The 14-member squad was revealed via social media following discussions between team head coach Mike Friday and Osea Kolinisau, the head coach of the Fiji Airways men’s sevens team and this year’s tournament ambassador.
The team boasts notable talent from the sevens rugby circuit, including players from the current Fiji sevens team. Among the distinguished athletes is Jerry Tuwai, a former national 7s representative and a two-time Olympic gold medalist in rugby sevens. The selection of elite athletes and the expertise of coach Friday have positioned the team as a strong contender for the tournament.
