The coaching approach of Flying Fijians assistant coach Aaron Mauger has significantly impacted the team’s players, according to head coach Mick Byrne. In an interview, Byrne praised Mauger’s contribution to the squad, highlighting his exceptional rugby intellect and the daily learning opportunities he provides during training.
Mauger, a former All Blacks player who appeared in 46 Tests and played 89 Super Rugby matches for the Crusaders, has previously coached the Highlanders and Moana Pasifika. Byrne noted that Mauger’s detailed, teaching-oriented coaching style allows players to gain valuable insights on the field.
