More than 200 rolls of aluminum foil filled with dried leaves and around a thousand small branches thought to be marijuana were confiscated in Tacirua, near Suva, yesterday afternoon.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, reported that the Fiji Police Force, particularly the Southern Division’s Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, along with the Fiji Detector Dog Unit and the Police Dog Unit, conducted a coordinated raid.
The operation targeted the residence of a 57-year-old man, where the illegal substances prepared for sale were discovered. ACP Driu emphasized the importance of community cooperation with law enforcement.
“The raid illustrates the ongoing support from the community in collaboration with the Fiji Police Force and the exchange of information,” he stated. “We are grateful to those who continue to contribute to policing efforts in the fight against drugs.”
