Lako Yani Management Pte Limited, the commercial arm of the Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma, has initiated the construction of a 10-storey building on Stewart Street in Suva. The project, valued at $46 million, is set for completion by June 2026.

Sereana Qoro, the chief executive officer of Lako Yani Management, noted that this building is one of two major projects they are undertaking this year. “The first project is the 10-storey building on Stewart Street, adjacent to the existing Reverend John Hunt building. This is the most significant project for the church,” Qoro commented.

In addition to the Stewart Street building, a service station is also being constructed in Davuilevu, which is expected to take around 10 months to finish, with a completion date set for 2025.

The new building will feature eight floors dedicated to office space, two floors for retail shops, and a food court, among other business activities on the lower levels.

Moreover, the management group is planning to transform Furnival Park into a sporting facility, which will include a 4,000-seat stadium, a multi-purpose gym, and a 220-car parking area. The facility will also house an international-standard rugby and soccer field, complete with a 1,000-seat pavilion.

Qoro explained that the Furnival Park project is part of the company’s long-term development strategy.
