The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) is planning to construct a church designed to accommodate a congregation of 40,000 people. This announcement was made by ANCF general superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday.
Rev Ratabacaca noted that the tournament serves as a fundraising effort for the new facility, which will be established on a 25-acre plot of land. He emphasized that the church will be available for events across all Christian denominations.
“We have been inspired to build this facility for the entire body of Christ. We are grateful that God has chosen us for this purpose,” he stated.
He added that the new church structure will not only serve their congregation but also be accessible for other Christian groups to host conferences. Rev Ratabacaca expressed his concern regarding the use of sports venues for worship, citing examples like the recent Methodist Church Conference held at Vodafone Arena in Suva, which incurred significant costs for just one week.
“Those sports grounds and Vodafone Arena are not the house of God. We have witnessed numerous Christian annual conferences held in such venues. In inclement weather, attendees are left wet and cold,” he remarked. “This facility will be built to ensure a comfortable environment for worshipping God.”
