Massive Church Project Aims to Unite 40,000 Worshippers

The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) is set to construct a new church capable of accommodating a congregation of 40,000 people. This announcement was made by ANCF General Superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday.

Rev. Ratabacaca noted that the tournament served as a fundraising effort for the church project. The facility will occupy a 25-acre plot of land, which will be available for events from various Christian denominations.

“We are inspired to build this facility for the entire body of Christ, and we are grateful that God has chosen us to undertake this task,” he stated. He emphasized that this church would not only serve the ANCF but also provide a venue for other Christian groups to host conferences.

The reverend expressed concerns about utilizing sports facilities for worship, citing the recent Methodist Church Conference at Vodafone Arena in Suva, which incurred expenses close to half a million dollars for a week-long event.

Rev. Ratabacaca remarked that sports grounds and venues like Vodafone Arena are not suitable houses of worship, especially when inclement weather leaves attendees wet and uncomfortable. He stressed that the new facility would ensure a comfortable environment for worshipping God.
