The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) is planning to construct a church capable of accommodating a congregation of 40,000 people. This announcement was made by ANCF General Superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday.
Rev Ratabacaca explained that the tournament serves as a fundraising initiative for the church project. He noted that the ANCF has secured a 25-acre piece of land for the new facility, which will be open for events hosted by all Christian denominations.
“We have been inspired to build this facility for all the body of Christ, and we are grateful to God for this opportunity,” he remarked. The facility is intended for use not just by the ANCF, but also by other Christian groups for church conferences.
Rev Ratabacaca expressed concerns about using sports grounds for worship, highlighting that locations like the Vodafone Arena in Suva can be costly. He pointed out, “Those sports grounds and Vodafone Arena are not the house of God.” He emphasized that many annual Christian conferences have been held in such venues, which can leave attendees uncomfortable during inclement weather.
“This facility will be built so we can worship God comfortably,” he concluded.
