Mark Evans, the chief executive of Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, has put an end to rumors surrounding the future of star center Iosefo Masi. Evans confirmed that the Olympic gold and silver medalist will continue with the franchise for the 2025 season, dispelling speculations linking Masi to a transfer to Lyon in the French Top 14. These reports stemmed from Lyon’s search for a replacement for Semi Radradra, who is expected to leave mid-season.

Evans emphasized the importance of relying on trustworthy sources for news concerning the club, advising Drua fans to be cautious about what they read on social media. “He (Masi) is happily contracted with the Fijian Drua and will stay with the club in the 2025 season of Super Rugby Pacific,” he stated, reinforcing Masi’s commitment to the team.

In other news, Masi has returned to training with the Drua after completing rehabilitation for a knee injury that had previously sidelined him. Unfortunately, he missed out on the Flying Fijians tour of Europe as a result.

This confirmation not only assures fans of Masi’s presence for the upcoming season but also demonstrates the Drua’s commitment to maintaining a strong squad. With Masi back in training, fans can look forward to seeing his contributions on the field, enhancing the team’s prospects in future competitions.
