Mary Fowler Takes Home 2024 Young Women’s Footballer of the Year Award!

Mary Fowler has been awarded the 2024 Young Women’s Footballer of the Year, following a vote by PFA members who recognized her as the standout performer among a competitive shortlist that included teammates Kyra Cooney-Cross, Charlotte Grant, and Kaitlyn Torpey.

This marks the second occasion Fowler has received this prestigious accolade, which honors Australian players under the age of 23 for their performances from June 2023 to June 2024. She previously won the award in 2022.

With this achievement, Fowler joins Alex Chidiac and Ellie Carpenter as the only players to have been recognized as Young Women’s Footballer of the Year twice.

At just 21 years old, Fowler showcased her talent both domestically and internationally, featuring prominently in six of seven matches for the CommBank Matildas during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and playing a crucial role in Australia’s campaign for Olympic qualifying.

At the club level, Fowler shone in the English Women’s Super League with Manchester City, where she made significant contributions with four goals and six assists, helping City secure a second-place finish in the league.
