Mary Fowler Crowned 2024 Young Women’s Footballer of the Year!

Mary Fowler has been awarded the title of 2024 Young Women’s Footballer of the Year, determined by votes from PFA members who recognized her as the top performer from a competitive group that included her teammates Kyra Cooney-Cross, Charlotte Grant, and Kaitlyn Torpey.

This is the second time Fowler has received the esteemed accolade, which honors Australian players under 23 years old for their achievements from June 2023 to June 2024. She previously won the award in 2022.

Fowler is now among the select group of players, including Alex Chidiac and Ellie Carpenter, who have won the Young Women’s Footballer of the Year award twice.

The 21-year-old showcased her talent both in domestic leagues and on the international stage, making significant contributions in six of the seven matches for the CommBank Matildas during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, as well as playing a crucial role in Australia’s Olympic qualifying efforts.

At the club level, Fowler had an outstanding season in the English Women’s Super League with Manchester City, where she registered four goals and six assists, helping the team secure a second-place finish in the league.
