Marist OB Clinches Narrow Victory in Koroturaga Quarter-Final Showdown!

The Marist Old Boys (OB) team showcased an impressive performance in a 13-10 win against the Draunivau Sharks during the FMF Suva Rugby Union Koroturaga quarter-final held at Bidesi grounds in Suva yesterday.

The match was tightly contested, with both teams exchanging points on the scoreboard, but Marist ultimately secured the narrow victory. Assistant coach Tadeo Vulaca commended the team’s resilience, recognizing the difficult challenge presented by the Draunivau Sharks.

In honor of the late Belasio Vukiwai, players and officials donned black armbands, also remembering Tevita Waqa and other players lost earlier in the season. “Preparation leading up to the competition went very well. This year, we had two teams, one in the Escott and one in the Koroturaga. Our main goal this year was to win both trophies, since our Escott team is currently performing well, and we aim to reclaim the Koroturaga title for Flagstaff,” said Vulaca.

In other matches, Covenant Red triumphed over Army Red with a score of 26-12, while Suva Stallions fell to Nabua White 23-24.
