Marist Brothers High School’s motto, “I’m my brother’s keeper,” united its students in a show of support as they provided gear kits to the Nasinu under-18 rugby team ahead of their semi-final match against Cuvu College.
Even after their own season ended in the Deans quarter-finals against reigning champions Queen Victoria School, the Marist team continued to back their fellow athletes by donating wraps and Fiji water bottles to the Nasinu players.
Principal Asish Dayal highlighted the significance of mutual support within Southern Zone rugby, emphasizing that the essence of the sport transcends the field. “We are here to support our Nasinu first XV team, showing solidarity as part of Southern Zone rugby,” Dayal stated. He acknowledged the competitive nature of rugby but stressed the importance of camaraderie and off-field support among teams.
As the Nasinu team prepares for their important match, the Marist team extended their best wishes, reinforcing their commitment to solidarity with the ethos of “I’m my brother’s keeper.”
In gratitude, Nasinu Secondary’s vice principal Navitalai Waiwalu thanked Marist Brothers High School for their generous support, recognizing it as a meaningful gesture from their rugby brothers.
