Marist Brothers High School celebrated a noteworthy achievement as they wrapped up their inter-house meet, a culmination of six weeks of dedicated preparation. Head athletics coach Antonio Raboiliku shared his contentment with the athletes’ performance but emphasized the pressing need to focus on the forthcoming Suva Zones scheduled for the next week.
Raboiliku expressed the importance of preparation as they gear up for the Suva Zones, remarking, “We are happy at where we are, but at the same time, we are mindful that we are the last inter-house being done. Now we need to go back to the drawing board because it will be just one week of preparation before we defend our Suva Zone title.”
The strength of the Marist athletics team is bolstered by a mix of seasoned athletes, many returning from last year, alongside the emergence of promising new talent unveiled during the inter-house competition. The coaching staff is keen on integrating these new athletes into the established squad, which bodes well for their upcoming challenges.
As the pressure intensifies, not only for the athletes but also for the school to uphold its reputation in the competitive Suva Zone, the event set for March 27 is anticipated to be thrilling. Marist’s goal of defending their title will undoubtedly showcase their hard work and commitment to excellence.
The dedication demonstrated by both athletes and coaches signals a bright future for Marist athletics, underlining the significance of teamwork, resilience, and continual growth vital for any successful sports program. This commitment fosters an environment where young talent can thrive, reaffirming the positive impact of school sports on both personal and athletic development.
