Marijuana Plant Discoveries Surge in Northern Division

More plants believed to be marijuana have been discovered in the Northern Division. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations Livai Driu said the consistent efforts to reduce the supply of green drugs by targeting cultivators continue, resulting in several farm raids in recent days.

ACP Driu reported that a raid conducted yesterday in the Tacilevu area led to the seizure of nearly 400 plants suspected to be marijuana. The owner of the farm has yet to be located, and investigations are ongoing.

In another raid in the Waisagavuna area, two farms were targeted, leading to the seizure of approximately 1,700 plants also believed to be marijuana. Efforts are now underway to identify the owners of these two farms.

ACP Driu emphasized that the Fiji Police’s focus is on supply reduction, with operations aimed at reducing both white and green drugs across all five policing divisions.
