Partly cloudy skies and brief, scattered showers are expected for several coastal and island areas through tomorrow, while much of the group will remain largely fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers. Southeasterly winds will be moderate to fresh and seas are forecast to be moderate to rough.

Brief showers are likely over Serua‑Namosi, Navua‑Suva‑Nausori, Tailevu‑Naitasiri‑Ra, southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, as well as the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and adjacent isles. Elsewhere conditions should be mainly fine with the chance of an isolated shower late in the day. Mariners and people using coastal areas should note the moderate to rough seas and the freshening southeasterly winds.

The outlook for Wednesday brings more cloud and some showers to the same areas, with eastern Macuata also included. Afternoon thunderstorms are possible over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, so outdoor plans in those areas could be affected by brief, heavier rain and thunder later in the day.

Local forecasts: Navua/Suva/Nausori are expected to be partly cloudy with brief showers, tomorrow 23°C–31°C and Wednesday 24°C–32°C. Natadradave/Korovou show the same temperatures and trend. Sigatoka/Coral Coast should be mostly fine with isolated afternoon or evening showers, tomorrow 24°C–32°C and Wednesday 25°C–32°C with possible thunderstorms. Nadi/Lautoka/Ba and Tavua/Rakiraki are forecast mainly fine with isolated showers; tomorrow 24°C–32°C, Wednesday 25°C–32°C with possible thunderstorms. The Yasawa/Mamanuca group is mainly fine, tomorrow 24°C–30°C and Wednesday 25°C–31°C. Labasa is mostly fine with isolated showers, tomorrow 24°C–32°C and Wednesday 25°C–32°C with possible thunderstorms. Savusavu and Nabouwalu are partly cloudy with brief showers, tomorrow 23°C–31°C and Wednesday 24°C–32°C with possible afternoon or evening thunderstorms. Taveuni, the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, and Kadavu are partly cloudy with brief showers, tomorrow 23°C–31°C and Wednesday 22°C–31°C.

Rotuma remains under a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers. Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, with moderate easterly winds and moderate seas. Temperatures there are forecast around 24°C–31°C tomorrow and 25°C–32°C on Wednesday. Given the windy conditions, rougher seas and the risk of afternoon thunderstorms on Wednesday in some locations, people should take sensible precautions for outdoor and marine activities.
