A moist easterly wind flow will dominate across Fiji, with a weak trough expected to bring increased cloud and showers to parts of the Northern Division from tomorrow. Most islands can expect a mix of cloudy periods and localized showers, while afternoon and evening thunderstorms with heavy falls are likely across Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Localised heavy rainfall could lead to flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
Cloudy periods with some showers are forecast for Serua‑Namosi, Navua‑Suva‑Nausori, Tailevu‑Naitasiri‑Ra‑Rakiraki, southern Bua, eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, and the Lau, Lomaiviti and Kadavu groups. Showers over the Northern Division are expected to become more occasional from tomorrow. Elsewhere, conditions will be generally fine apart from the chance of afternoon or evening showers.
Afternoon thunderstorms with heavy falls are expected over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu and are also likely or possible in many coastal and interior districts during the afternoon peak. The heaviest, most intense downpours are the primary concern for flash flooding of low‑lying and flood‑prone areas. Localised heavy falls are specifically noted for the Navua/Suva/Nausori area, and similar afternoon thunderstorm risk applies to Nadi/Lautoka/Ba, Sigatoka/Coral Coast, Tavua/Rakiraki, Labasa, Savusavu, Nabouwalu and Taveuni.
Winds are forecast to remain moderate from the east across the group with moderate seas for most waters. Rotuma will see cloudy periods with some showers and possible isolated thunderstorms, with moderate to fresh easterly winds and moderate to rough seas. Temperature ranges for major centres tomorrow are around the mid‑20s to low‑30s Celsius, with local minimums generally 23–25°C and highs around 31–33°C depending on location.
Residents in low‑lying and flood‑prone areas should remain alert to the potential for brief, intense downpours and runoff during afternoon storms. Mariners and small‑craft operators should note the moderate seas and, in Rotuma’s vicinity, the possibility of rougher conditions.
