A moist northeasterly wind flow is dominating the country, with a weak trough expected to affect northeastern areas from tomorrow. That pattern will bring cloudy periods and some showers to parts of the north and east, while the remainder of the group will be mainly fine with the usual afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. Afternoon thunderstorms with heavy falls are likely across Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, and localised heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas.
The northeastern districts and nearby islands—Navua‑Suva‑Nausori, Tailevu‑Naitasiri‑Ra‑Rakiraki, eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and surrounding smaller islands—can expect cloudy periods with some showers, with showers becoming more occasional from tomorrow. For Navua, Suva and Nausori the forecast minimum is around 25°C with a daytime high near 31°C, rising to about 32°C by Wednesday. Similar temperatures are expected for Natadradave and Korovou.
Elsewhere on Viti Levu the day will be largely fine apart from the chance of afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms, particularly over the western and interior districts. Sigatoka and the Coral Coast, Nadi, Lautoka and Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki, and the Yasawa/Mamanuca group should prepare for afternoon/evening showers and isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls at times. Typical overnight lows will be in the mid‑20s with daytime highs near 31–32°C over these areas.
On Vanua Levu and nearby northern islands conditions mirror the northeasterly moisture: Labasa and Savusavu are likely to see cloudy periods with some showers and afternoon thunderstorms with heavy falls; both towns have lows around 25°C and daytime highs near 31°C, rising to about 32°C on Wednesday. Nabouwalu, Taveuni, and parts of the Lau and Lomaiviti groups will see cloudy spells with showers and isolated heavy falls at times, with similar temperatures through the period.
Winds are expected to be moderate northeasterlies across most of Fiji with moderate seas. Rotuma remains under an easterly flow and should be fine apart from brief showers, with moderate to fresh easterly winds and moderate to rough seas; temperatures there are forecast around 25–33°C tomorrow and a trend toward cloudier conditions with some showers by Wednesday. Residents and visitors in low‑lying or flood‑prone areas should be aware of the risk of brief, intense downpours and take usual precautions.
