The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has charged a 29-year-old man with the murder of his 25-year-old wife. According to the ODPP Serious Crime (Non-Sexual Violence) Offences Statistics for June, the accused allegedly stabbed his wife in the neck with a kitchen knife, leading to her death.
In June, 29 individuals were charged with a total of 38 counts of non-sexual violence offences. These charges include murder (3), aggravated robbery (5), robbery (1), aggravated burglary (5), theft (7), receiving (2), arson (1), assault causing actual bodily harm (2), act with intent to cause grievous harm (4), unlawful wounding (1), serious assault (1), common assault (1), criminal intimidation (1), illegal cultivation of illicit drugs (3), and escape from lawful custody (1).
There were 25 victims associated with the 38 counts of non-sexual violence offences. Additionally, there were two incidents in which the accused and the victim were related.
