The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has charged a 29-year-old man with the murder of his 25-year-old wife. According to the ODPP Serious Crime (Non-Sexual Violence) Offences Statistics for June, the accused allegedly stabbed the victim in her neck with a kitchen knife, leading to her death.
In June, 29 individuals faced charges encompassing a total of 38 counts of non-sexual violence offences. These offences included three counts of murder, five counts of aggravated robbery, one count of robbery, five counts of aggravated burglary, seven counts of theft, two counts of receiving, one count of arson, two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, four counts of acts with intent to cause grievous harm, one count of unlawful wounding, one count of serious assault, one count of common assault, one count of criminal intimidation, three counts of illegal cultivation of illicit drugs, and one count of escaping from lawful custody.
A total of 25 victims were reported in relation to these 38 counts of non-sexual violence offences. Additionally, there were two incidents in which the accused and the victim were related.
