Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced the resignation of Barbara Malimali from her position as Chair of the Electoral Commission (EC). He received the notification via email from the Solicitor-General, who acts as the Secretariat for the Constitutional Offices Commission (COC), at 8:17 am on Saturday, September 14. The announcement was prompted by a recent newspaper article discussing Malimali’s resignation. According to the Prime Minister, she has now been appointed as a Commissioner of the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC).
