A collaborative effort between the Fiji Police Force and the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service led to the significant seizure of over 4 kilograms of methamphetamine. The interception occurred after customs officers detected irregularities during the screening of an airfreight consignment from Southeast Africa. Upon further inspection, several packets containing the illicit drug were uncovered.
As a result of this operation, three individuals have been arrested and will face charges at the Nadi Magistrates Court today. They have been charged with unlawful importation of illicit drugs. Notably, one of the accused is reportedly a police officer, who, along with the other suspects, faces an additional charge of possessing properties believed to be proceeds from criminal activities.
