Police in the Northern division successfully intercepted a substantial marijuana shipment during a routine roadblock. The operation took place at the Bagasau roadblock, where officers from the Tukavesi Police Station conducted a search of a bus’s luggage compartment. They discovered a black bag containing dried leaves, which are believed to be marijuana.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu reported that, during another inspection conducted on Monday night, additional branches of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana were seized on Sabeto road. As a result of these operations, two individuals traveling in the vehicle were arrested.

This proactive approach by the police highlights their commitment to tackling drug-related issues and ensuring community safety. Such actions not only deter drug trafficking but also protect the public from the potential harms associated with drug use. Continuing efforts like these could lead to safer communities and a more vigilant public response to drug-related activities.

In summary, the police’s diligent actions in intercepting significant drug shipments demonstrate a strong commitment to public safety and may inspire further community involvement in the fight against drug trafficking.
