Authorities have conducted successful raids in Malua Range, Navosa, resulting in the seizure of over 2,000 plants suspected to be marijuana. These operations were executed by officers from the Western Division Serious Organised Crime Intelligence Department, responding to tips regarding marijuana cultivation in the area.
The officers undertook a challenging trek through difficult terrain, spending a night in the highlands before discovering more than 1,800 plants at one farm and an additional 900 plants at another location, with sizes ranging from 10 cm to 2.5 meters.
Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations Livai Driu underscored the importance of these seizures in disrupting the marijuana supply chain. He emphasized the ongoing commitment to targeting individuals involved in the cultivation and distribution of illegal substances. ACP Driu also noted recent arrests and court proceedings linked to these operations and acknowledged the valuable public cooperation that aid in these investigations.
