Authorities have seized over 2,000 plants suspected to be marijuana during two raids conducted in the Malua Range of Navosa. The operations were carried out by the Western Division Serious Organised Crime Intelligence Department (SOCID) following credible information regarding the cultivation of cannabis in the area.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, highlighted the importance of this seizure in disrupting the local supply chain, as police continue to focus on those involved in both the cultivation and distribution of illegal plants. He noted that several arrests had been made in recent weeks, with suspects being charged and brought before the court. Driu commended the community for their cooperation in sharing information that contributed to this successful operation and earlier raids.

During the raids, authorities discovered more than 1,800 plants on one farm, while another farm yielded an additional 900 plants, ranging in height from 10 centimeters to 2.5 meters.

This ongoing effort by law enforcement not only demonstrates a commitment to combating drug-related activities but also signals to the community the importance of reporting suspicious activities. With continued support and vigilance, it is hopeful that these efforts will lead to a reduction in illegal drug cultivation and ultimately contribute to a safer environment for everyone.
