Major hotel brands, including Wyndham, have approached the Damodar Group to manage a new 40-room hotel in Labasa. Div Damodar, the CEO of the Damodar Group, confirmed that an official announcement will be made soon regarding this development.
He mentioned that a number of significant business entities have been reaching out to them, indicating strong confidence in the tourism industry and international brands in Vanua Levu. Mr. Damodar emphasized that Vanua Levu remains an untapped market for tourism.
He believes that this hotel complex could serve as a catalyst to attract other major brands to Fiji. In addition to the rooms, the hotel will feature an 80-seater conference room and a swimming pool, with the conference space available for workshops and various events.
The new hotel, which is anticipated to open by the end of the year, is expected to create employment opportunities for at least 25 individuals.
