Major Drug Busts: Dozens Arrested in Nationwide Crackdown!

Twelve individuals were apprehended over the past 48 hours in connection with alleged illegal drug possession.

Livai Driu, the Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, reported that law enforcement seized several plastic bags containing a white substance suspected to be methamphetamine during a raid at a residence in Namara, Labasa. Three men were taken into custody at that location, along with over $1,000 in cash believed to be linked to criminal activities.

In Lautoka, part of the Western Division, a 26-year-old man was found in possession of two plastic bags containing white crystals thought to be methamphetamine, as well as bullets of dried leaves that are believed to be marijuana.

Four men in Rakiraki town were arrested after police uncovered multiple sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana alongside several plastic bags containing white crystals presumed to be methamphetamine.

Additionally, two men were detained in Lautoka for separate incidents involving sachets of dried marijuana leaves.

In another development, a 29-year-old man was arrested in Nadi after police discovered marijuana plants and seedlings at his location.

Earlier today, a police team including K9 officers conducted a raid in Tavakubu, Lautoka, where they seized more substances believed to be methamphetamine. One 44-year-old man was arrested in that operation and is currently in police custody.

Assistant Commissioner Driu emphasized that police divisions are actively focused on disrupting the illicit drug trade and urged the public to continue providing information to assist their efforts in reducing drug supply.
